This fresh sauce may be as mild or as warm as you like, depending on the chiles used. salsa fresca and salsa cruda, is a kind of salsa generally used in Mexican cuisine. It is traditionally made from chopped tomato, onion, Serrano peppers, with salt, lime juice, and cilantro.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Large tomato, finely chopped
  • ½ cup Finely chopped onion or 2 green onions, including tops, chopped
  • 1-4 ounce Chopped green chiles
  • 4 piece Chopped green chiles
  • ½ tbsp Salt
  • ½ cup Coarsely chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Place minced onion in a bowl and cover with cold water. Add vinegar and let sit for 5 minutes or longer. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  • In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients and stir in onions. (If your tomatoes are full of flavor, you won’t need lime juice.) Ideally, let stand at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes before eating so that flavors will blend and ripen.
