Founder’s Story
Hotel Zazz is the visionary creation of Dr. Sharmin Dharas, an Albuquerque native with deep roots in Nob Hill. Growing up, Dr. Dharas spent countless hours at the family-run University Lodge, which her parents operated since 1996. With the hotel as her childhood playground, her imagination bloomed, setting the stage for her future in hospitality.
A Bold Transformation
Driven by a simple yet profound mission—to craft an immersive boutique experience—Dr. Dharas reimagined the old motel. Today, Hotel Zazz stands as a vibrant fusion of art, chromatic visuals, and dynamic sounds, designed to defy the ordinary. With the help of local artists, she transformed the space into a sustainable and community-focused hotel, dedicated to giving back.
