- Wooden spoon or spatula

Ingredients
- 1 Heaping cup long grain rice
- 3 cups Water
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- ¼ tsp Salt (a pinch)
- 3½ cups Whole milk
- ½ cup Sugar (add more after tasting, if you want it sweeter)
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract (a dash)
- Ground cinnamon for garnish (optional)
- Raisins or nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In large pot over medium high heat, add rice, water, pinch of salt, and cinnamon sticks.
- Bring to boil, then reduce heat and let simmer on low approx.
- 15 mins so that the water is absorbed into the rice.
- Then add in milk, sugar, and vanilla extract and let it continue to cook at a low simmer until rice is fully cooked and you're left with a creamy, somewhat runny consistency.
- Taste to ensure your level of sweetness and adjust if necessary.
- Serve while hot, garnishing with additional ground cinnamon.
