Green Chile Cheddar Biscuits - Red Lobster Copycat

Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour Unbleached
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
- ¾ tsp Onion/garlic salt mix ½ onion powder & ½ garlic powder (I used Trader Joe’s onion salt)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese Shredded
- 1 Large egg
- ⅓ cup Butter Softened or melted slightly
- ⅔ cup Milk
- 1 cup NM Green Chile Chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°.
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper, or a silicone mat.
- Combine 2 cups flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, ¾ tsp onion/garlic mixture, 1 tsp salt, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese in a large bowl.
- Next, whisk one egg in a separate bowl.
- Then add ½ cup butter, ⅔ cup milk, and 1 cup chopped NM green chile; stir to combine.
- Add to the dry mixture and stir until just combined – do not overmix.
- Drop about a ¼ cup of the batter onto the baking sheet; repeat until you’ve used it all.
- Bake for approximately 12 minutes, or until the bottom of the biscuits start to brown slightly.
- You should yield about 12 large biscuits.
