Green Chile Cheddar Biscuits - Red Lobster Copycat

I am gonna teach you all a Red Lobster copycat recipe: Cheddar Biscuits with NM Green Chile. This is the perfect recipe for this upcoming Mother's Day, but also a great classic to keep on hand for any occasion. You're gonna love it!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Unbleached
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • ¾ tsp Onion/garlic salt mix ½ onion powder & ½ garlic powder (I used Trader Joe’s onion salt)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese Shredded
  • 1 Large egg
  • cup Butter Softened or melted slightly
  • cup Milk
  • 1 cup NM Green Chile Chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°.
  • Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper, or a silicone mat.
  • Combine 2 cups flour, 1 tbsp baking powder, ¾ tsp onion/garlic mixture, 1 tsp salt, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese in a large bowl.
  • Next, whisk one egg in a separate bowl.
  • Then add ½ cup butter, ⅔ cup milk, and 1 cup chopped NM green chile; stir to combine.
  • Add to the dry mixture and stir until just combined – do not overmix.
  • Drop about a ¼ cup of the batter onto the baking sheet; repeat until you’ve used it all.
  • Bake for approximately 12 minutes, or until the bottom of the biscuits start to brown slightly.
  • You should yield about 12 large biscuits.
