Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. oil or butter
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 4 Tbsp. green chile powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. ground cumin
- ½ tsp. ground Mexican oregano
- 2 ½ cups water or milk, the milk will make it a creamier sauce
Instructions
- Heat pan on stovetop over medium high heat, add in oil or butter followed by flour. Mix well and let cook two minutes.
- Add in chile powder, salt, garlic powder, ground cumin and oregano. Mix to combine, then add liquid. Stir to dissolve and break up spices.
- If you have a gravy whisk, this is the perfect time to use it to make sure sauce is smooth with no clumps.
- Let it come to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Use sauce immediately over your favorite dish and enjoy.
